This enchanting Manoir is ideal for family groups looking to holiday in the Dordogne. Full of history yet with all the modern conveniences you could want for in a home away from home. There are 2 separate buildings with the Manoir offering a more formal and luxurious setting and the cottage oozing rustic French charm. Both properties combined sleep up to 22 guests. The Manoir is set in a small hamlet just a short drive to the river Dordogne and local town. Both properties have been recently renovated to a very high standard and the soft furnishings and furniture are all of a high quality.
The Manoir
The main entrance takes you into a beautiful hallway with stunning staircase and cloakroom. On the Ground floor, there is a large family Kitchen which opens out onto the side terrace and with views over the pool area. There is also a breakfast area and small living area too with large TV and sofa area. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is also a utility room off the kitchen. There is a Dining Room with seating for up to 10 guests which has doors onto the stunning terrace. There is also a TV room with a 65 inch Smart TV and plenty of sofas along with a more formal Living Room with an open fireplace and rather than a TV, plenty of board games and books. The Living Room also opens up onto the exterior terrace.
There is Wifi throughout and the TVs have French and English channels, Netflix and Amazon Prime.
There are 6 bedrooms in total in the Manoir, 4 on the first floor and 2 on the second floor and they comprise as follows;
First Floor
- Bedroom 1 is a family suite and has a master bedroom with a super king size bedroom, an en-suite shower room and a living room with a day bed.
- Bedroom 2 is a large bedroom with super king size bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower.
- Bedroom 3 is again a super king size bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
- Bedroom 4 is a super king size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and bathroom.
There are two bedrooms on the second floor accessed by different staircases
- Bedroom 5 is a master suite which has an office area and then a very large spacious master bedroom with a stand alone bath. In addition there is a living room with Smart TV and sofa and space for additional beds. There is also a separate en-suite with shower.
- Bedroom 6 is a family bedroom set in the eaves (the stairs up are quite steep). This is a king size bedroom with an additional single bed. There is also space for an additional bed if required.
The Cottage
The cottage is a short walk from the Manoir through beautiful gardens (approx 75m) and offers an additional 2 bedrooms as well as kitchen and open plan living and dining area. There is also a separate utility room and WC.
- Bedroom 7 is a king size bedroom with door opening over the garden.
- Bedroom 8 is also a king size bedroom.
- There is a shared family bathroom with bath and shower over.
It is possible for 2 additional folding beds to be added to the living room or bedrooms by request in advance.
Outside Living
The property is set in a small hamlet and surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are views over to the river Dordogne. The grounds are approximately 2 acres. There is a fantastic terrace that runs the whole width of the house and can be set up with a large table for outdoor dining. There are also 2 BBQs (Coal and Gas).There are numerous other terraces and quiet areas to escape to. The Swimming pool is 10m x 5m and is alarmed. There are plenty of recliners and parasols around the pool area. There are also a number of lawned areas for games including a football goal. In addition there is a delightful bar area with fridge, darts and bluetooth speakers. There is also a trampoline for children.
Local Area
The Manoir is set in small hamlet close to the banks of the river Dordogne and a short drive from both St Foy La Grande and Bergerac. There is a small village even closer with amenities such as a boulangerie, small grocery and restaurant/bar. The Dordogne river-side towns of Bergerac and St Foy le Grande both have weekly morning markets and during the summer also have night markets as well as many other events going on throughout the summer months. In addition, there are many other medieval bastide towns and villages to visit in the area. St Emilion is a must to visit from the Manoir and is on the way into the vibrant city of Bordeaux which is approximately an hour away.
There are activities to suit all ages and interests, foodies will enjoy the great local restaurants at the heart of France's centre of gastronomic excellence, as well as the wine of AOC Bergerac. There are many Michelin starred restaurants in the area and Chateau Vigiers which has an 18 hole championship golf course is only a 20 minute drive from the Manoir. The area has been described as the capital of world prehistory, and culture vultures are spoilt for choice with caves, museums and chateaux aplenty.
Getting Here
The Manoir is ideally positioned just 20 minutes drive from Bergerac International Airport making it an easy final destination. Ryanair flies here from London Stansted, Liverpool, Nottingham, Bristol, East Midlands and Brussels. British Airways flies from London City Airport. Jet2 flies to Leeds Bradford Airport. Transvania flies to Rotterdam. IGAvion flies to Nice. The larger airport of Bordeaux is just under an hour away with many more Uk and Worldwide locations. There are also TGV links to Paris at Libourne which is approximately a 40 minute drive away and the train is just over 2 and half hours from Bordeaux to Paris.

Quality : Luxurious Manoir living
We love this Manoir. The owners have thought of everything and it is perfect for large group holidays. A piece of paradise in an ideal location for exploring the Dordogne and all it has to offer!
