For the colder months there is a Jotul wood burning stove. There are French doors that open up from both the kitchen area and the living area onto the terrace.
There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor as follows;
Bedroom 1 is the larger bedroom with twin beds
Bedroom 2 has a double bed
The bedrooms share a family shower room and a separate WC
There is also a small room in the Pigeonnier itself which has a single bed. The stairs to access this are very steep and not ideal for the young or old.
The property has a terrace which runs the length of the building and is accessed from the main living room. It is an ideal place to sit and dine or just sit and relax looking over the beautiful gardens. There is a BBQ on the terrace as well as recliners and parasols. The 11m x 5m swimming pool is a short walk from the pigeonnier and is fenced for security. The guests have exclusive use of the swimming pool apart from between 7pm and 8pm each day when the owners use the pool. There is table tennis and badminton. The grounds are approximately 1 hectare and include a pretty pond and orchard.
The Pigeonnier is ideally located in rolling countryside yet close to the Dordogne village of Eymet. You are also ideally placed to access the historical riverside towns on the Dordogne such as Domme, Roque Gageac and the historical town of Sarlat to the east. There are daily morning markets throughout the area with Bergerac on a Wednesday and Saturday, Eymet on a Thursday and Issigeac on a Sunday. If you prefer to eat out, the variety of restaurants are immense from local bistro type restaurants who charge 15 euros for a three course meal to La Tour de Vent at Monbazillac which has a Michelin star. The championship golf course of Vigiers is just a 20 minute drive and also has tennis courts and a spa as well as Michelin star restaurant and a more relaxed bistro. Fun for all the family is a day out on the canoe paddling down the Dordogne river and this should not be missed!
